Privacy policy
Plain-English version: we run a simple review site, we don't collect personal information from you directly, and we never sell data. The details are below.
Last updated: 6 November 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how The Good Roundup ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you visit thegoodroundup.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to this policy.
The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account, sign up, or give us personal details.
- We never sell your data.
- Like almost every website, our hosting provider and some third-party services (such as Amazon) may automatically collect limited technical data, as explained below.
Information we collect
We don't directly collect names, emails, or payment details, because the Site has no sign-up, login, or checkout. The limited information involved is:
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records basic technical data for every visit — things like your IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and the time of your visit. This is standard for all websites and is used for security and to keep the Site running.
- Analytics (if enabled). We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which guides are popular, in aggregate. This tells us things like "the kitchen guide had 500 visits this week," not who you are.
Affiliate links & Amazon
The Good Roundup is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click one of our Amazon links and visit Amazon, Amazon may place cookies on your device to track that the visit (and any resulting purchase) came from us, so we can earn a commission. This is how the Site is funded, at no extra cost to you.
That activity happens on Amazon's side and is governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice, not ours. We never see your Amazon account, your purchases, or your payment information — we only receive anonymous, aggregated reports about commissions earned. See our affiliate disclosure for more.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. The Site itself sets few or no cookies. Cookies you may encounter come from third parties such as Amazon (via the affiliate links above), Google (for advertising and analytics), or any analytics we use. You can control or delete cookies anytime in your browser settings — doing so won't stop the Site from working, though it may stop us from earning a commission on a purchase you make.
Third-party services we rely on
- Amazon Associates — affiliate program and product links.
- Our hosting provider — serves the Site and keeps standard server logs.
- Search engines — we may use tools like Google Search Console to understand how the Site appears in search results.
- Google Ads — we may use Google's advertising tools (including conversion-tracking and remarketing tags) to measure how ads that bring visitors to the Site perform, and to show relevant ads on Google's network. Google may set cookies to do this; see how Google uses data.
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing the data it handles.
How we use information
Any limited data described above is used only to operate and secure the Site, understand which content is useful in aggregate, and earn affiliate commissions that fund the Site. We do not use it to build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll address it.
Your choices
- Manage or clear cookies through your browser settings.
- Use your browser's "Do Not Track" or private browsing features.
- Simply avoid clicking affiliate links if you'd prefer no affiliate cookie is set.
International visitors
The Good Roundup is operated from Guyana, and the Site is available to readers worldwide. If you visit from another country, be aware that any limited technical data may be processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
